A Day in the Life of a Blogger

Image
Words float through my brain as I lay in the darkness of nightFuzzy, feathery words that I think I will write about when I'm awakeDaylight filters in as I get up and make my way to the coffee potBooting up my laptop to the gurgling sounds of the nectar brewingI pour a hot, steamy cup and sit taking in that first magical sipI smile as I place my cursor on a blank page knowing I shall writeFingers hovering the keyboard and this happens...My mind becomes as blank as that page on my screen!!!

Does this happen to you? It's so frustrating. What do you do for inspiration? Love, BB

A Meme For Peace in the USA

Image
Was the USA this hateful before now? Everytime I open a news app or look at Facebook all I see are nasty comments about politics, protesters, anti-mask nastiness just for starters. I'm sick of it.It's down right disgusting that it's gotten to this point. I almost hate to peek into the real world from my safe and peaceful home.  That said...I've created a meme. I honestly think it might work. Calm people down and maybe even try to get along.

It Was No Coincidence Dear Prudence

Image
Speaking for myself, I don't believe in coincidences. Things happen for reasons even if we don't understand what that reason is. Something happened to me the other day that cannot be explained by science; at least I don't think so. I'll share my story and you be the judge. My best friend, whom I call my Beach Sister (BS), lives up in Canada. I'm a gazillion miles away in Florida. We connect every day at some point to check in with each other. It may just be a brief message on Messenger or we'll do a HouseParty video chat. She and I are very much alike in many ways and that's why we became such tight friends after just parking next to each other on the beach one day about seven years ago.Due to the wonderful Covid pandemic, my BS could not come down for her annual spring vacation because the borders are closed between Canada and the US. There's nothing that can be done about it but we miss seeing each other and hanging out on the beach and having a fun ti…

The Little Things

Image
As I woke up this morning and laid in bed before my day began, I started thinking of how we need to be mindful of the simple things. I thought I'd share some of the things that make me smile.
The smell of fresh brewed coffee in the morning and then that first sip. The house is quiet when I get up so I have "my time" to sit and reflect and enjoy that cup of joe. The sounds of nature. For me there is nothing more soothing than just listening to nature. Birds singing is what I call nature's music box. A breeze rustling some leaves. Soft soaking summer rain is so soothing. Sitting on the beach with my eyes closed and just listening to the waves. The ebb and flow of the water is mesmerizing. The sun on my skin and feeling the warmth deep in my bones. Daily chats with my Beach Sister to just check in with each other since the border is closed to Canada and we can't visit right now. A Skype with a dear friend in British Columbia and heavenly Devon, England. A phone call or a …

I Hate Roller Coasters!!

Image
As a kid, I never liked roller coasters. Or any rides that moved fast and made your stomach flip. I get motion sick super easy and am much happier on the ground watching others scream at the top of their lungs.
So far, 2020 has been one heck of a roller coaster ride. I got sick the first two weeks of March. Was it COVID-19? I don't know but it's quite possible. Thankfully, after those two weeks of a horrible sore throat, low grade fever and zero energy, it passed on.
Aside from sickness, it's also been a roller coaster in other ways. I had to move from where I was living for the last two years. Sharing space with others is not an easy feat. I was a very considerate roommate but it was not reciprocated. I was literally ready to pull my hair out. If it weren't for my best friends D and J keeping me sane, I don't know what I would have done.
Incessant vacuuming, slamming and banging of cupboards and drawers at 6 a.m. Leaving dirty dishes in the sink and on the stove. Clu…
